OK... I see what you mean, Erin

Well, at first I laughed off Erin mentioning that some students have trouble with the course content and their mental state but I am really seeing what she means! While reading the text and the article I found myself drifting off into a rather disturbing thought process. Contemplating my death and of those I love and who are close to me was punctuated with the idea of the separation of the body from society. The cultures that disassociate themselves with the dead and how and why they dispose of the remains as they do got me thinking about what my death will be like and how I may deal with death. Having my grandma pass away this time last year and having a dear friend die only a few months ago, it really affected me. But not in a scary way just gave me some more insight into how we dealt with it. I have decided that after reading these things and experiencing some strange emotions that I should decompress and read something unrelated to school...DON'T PICK "THE SATANIC VERSES"!  It is about death and a whole lot of it! Regardless, instead of ignoring it and shrugging it off I find it best to redirect my mind after my Anth 392 reading...Still loving it.

ANTHBLARG! 392

Well.... this should be interesting... Never blogged about anything with a serious tone and I do not believe that this will end up being the case here.

I am a 3rd year Anth student with a penchant for the cultural rather than the physical and I hope that this class will pique my interest.... Is there anyone out there that might be able to boost my enthusiasm in the area of Le Bones and Le Dirt!!!???
